El edificio surge del Plan Maestro de Infraestructura 2008–2028 de la Universidad Javeriana, con el objetivo de consolidar una sede en el norte de Bogotá para programas de Educación Continua y posgrados. Su implantación frente a una vía principal de gran escala y alto flujo vehicular define dos decisiones clave: crear un volumen que se perciba de manera distinta según la velocidad y dirección de aproximación, y humanizar el entorno mediante un jardín–balcón elevado en el segundo piso que convierte el acceso en una experiencia amable y contemplativa.
Ubicado en una esquina estratégica, el edificio actúa como un hito urbano, imponente pero respetuoso con su contexto. A escala pública, un antejardín amplio y transitable restituye espacio al peatón y facilita el acceso a los locales del primer nivel. En cuanto a materialidad, el proyecto reivindica el uso del ladrillo como una alternativa local de calidad para edificios institucionales y de oficinas, frente a la predominancia del curtain wall en la arquitectura contemporánea.
El edificio cuenta con tres sótanos destinados a estacionamientos y servicios, dos primeros pisos de vocación comercial y un lobby principal ubicado en el segundo nivel, integrado al jardín–balcón con vista hacia la ciudad. Los pisos superiores se destinan a actividades educativas, de salud y oficinas. Los niveles ocupados por la Universidad Javeriana albergan programas de Educación Continua, posgrados, un espacio para egresados bajo esquemas de coworking, el Centro Javeriano de Interculturalidad y Plurilingüismo, y un servicio de alimentación para actividades institucionales y usuarios externos.

The building originates from the Universidad Javeriana’s 2008–2028 Infrastructure Master Plan, aiming to establish a northern Bogotá location for Continuing Education and postgraduate programs. Its placement along a major city avenue with heavy traffic led to two key design decisions: creating a volume perceived differently depending on the speed and direction of approach, and humanizing the harsh urban condition through a second-floor garden-balcony that transforms the act of entering the building into a pleasant, contemplative experience.
Located on a strategic corner, the building becomes an urban landmark—imposing yet respectful of its context. At the public realm, a generous, walkable forecourt returns a high-quality pedestrian space and provides clear access to the first-floor commercial units. Materially, the project embraces brick as a high-value local alternative for institutional and office buildings, countering the prevailing global trend of curtain wall façades.
The building includes three basement levels for parking and services, two ground levels dedicated to commercial uses, and a main lobby on the second floor integrated with the elevated garden-balcony overlooking the city. The upper floors host educational, health, and office functions. The levels occupied by the Universidad Javeriana include Continuing Education programs, postgraduate classrooms, an alumni space with coworking facilities, the Javeriana Center for Interculturality and Multilingualism, and a food service that supports institutional activities while also serving external users.
